Quick Update

My version of Lexitron is fully playable, but still lacking a lot of the behind-the-scenes functionality like saving and settings. Thanks to sqlite the delay between rounds should be much shorter, and the settings will now be asking whether you want sound effects and background music off.

Earlier today I was playing with a version in which words you failed to find turned into links to an online dictionary with their definition, but I threw it out for the time being. Sometimes I have to remind myself to get the basics down before working on the icing.

To address some comments, the price will likely be $1.99, the release date will be I have no idea when– it’s ridiculous to try to guess what bugs will pop up. Yes, the graphics are different: they are much better. I haven’t met a programmer yet who can design well; the better programmers are big enough to admit it. Lexitron 2.0 has a much more unified theme and is graphically impressive instead of graphically passable. Thanks Neseus!

… and thanks for the support everyone! It’s much more fun to code when I feel like people care.

Sweet! (told ya I check this every day). $1.99 is a good pricepoint because that’s what the others are set at. I’m sure many of us would be willing to pay more, but that’ll be good for the mass appeal. Will the sound fx and music be separate settings or will it be all sound on or off? The dictionary feature would be a good v1.1 update.

    Good Luck,
    Rick

$1.99?! That’s dirt-cheap! Everyone else will probably hate me for saying this, but I think you could probably get away with charging a bit more.. but hey, if you want to price it at $1.99, I certainly won’t complain ;) I can’t wait to see it in action! Tease us with some more graphics when you can.. :)

I’m excited for this. The other App Store apps are seriously lacking in beauty and functionality.

This was one of my favorite games when I had the jailbroken iPod. I can’t wait for this new release.

I won’t pay for most games at all . . . I’ll almost certainly buy this one!

I saw at least one more text twist like game has popped up on the app store when searching for “word”. One suggestions I’ld make is to put the term text twist in the description for people who search for that game. That’s how I found some of the others.
